Lenore Shefman is a cyclist herself. While not a competitive athlete, last year she put over two thousand miles on her roadbike, and several hundred on her mountain bike. Her passion is helping cyclists who have been hurt by driver negligence. She knows what it is like out on the road. Car drivers often do not pay attention to cyclists. Cyclists get doored, the right-of-way gets ignored, and roads are not maintained causing bicycle crashes. Thus, Lenore created cyclistlaw.com as an effort to help cyclists who have been injured. Lenore has done other work including working for the Office of the State Public Defender as a clerk during law school. This work focused on preserving the rights of inmates alive on San Quentin's death row. She feels fortunate to have been able to contribute to several habeas corpus briefs eventually submitted to the United States Supreme Court. She was also able to utilize her background in social work to develop a social history for a client on death row. Other areas of her practice have included acting as outside general counsel to small business throughout the State of California.
